Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC) - membership organisation for Further and Higher Education institutions, the EAUC aims to integrate sustainability and environmental management into colleges and universities in the UK and further afield.

Carbon Trust - an independent company funded by the Government to help businesses and the public sector save energy and reduce carbon emissions. Offers free tailored support, audit services, publications, training events and has a useful website.

Energy Saving Trust - non-profit organisation, funded by government and the private sector. Works with households, business and the public sector to achieve the sustainable use of energy and cut carbon dioxide emissions.

Higher Education Environmental Performance Improvement (HEEPI) - HEEPI provides useful case studies and briefing documents about environmental performance improvement in the Higher Education Sector.

Resource Management in the Education Sector - a recent report produced by WasteWatch with the latest research into environmental performance in schools and Further and Higher Education Institutions.

Student Environmental Network - a searchable, archived group mailing list for students, student officers, and staff interested in making Higher Education a greener industry.

London 21 Sustainability Network - promotes, supports and networks community-based initiatives for a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Greater London, including universities.

Ethics & Environmental Student Resource Network - This website set up by Loughborough P&P allows all of those involved in student ethical and environmental groups to learn from each other, use each others’ ideas, share resources and help each other succeed.

Higher Education Estates - this network of Directors of Estates details current initiatives and gives profiles of partners. Offers resources such as advice, publications, training, discussion group and a newsletter.

EUROPA - European Union environmental legislation.

Environmental Virtual Campus - A great resource hosted by HEEPI, take a tour of this virtual campus and find useful information on minimising environmental impacts.

University Leaders for a Sustainable Future - The US equivalent of the EAUC.

Campus Consortium for Environmental Excellence - Another US equivalent to EAUC with useful toolkits, posters and briefings.

International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO)

Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) - The EU’s EMAS site with loads of useful info, FAQ and resources.

EcoCampus - EcoCampus is a national Environmental Management System (EMS) and award scheme for the higher education sector.

BREEAM - BRE’s Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) is used throughout the UK to assess the environmental performance of both new and existing buildings.

Green Energy Works - the Green Party’s campaign for more investment in renewable energy and energy-saving.

Energy Office - a useful website offering campaigns advice, tools for calculating energy-savings and a forum for contacting others in 5 European countries

Environmental Transport Association - motoring organisation aiming to raise awareness of the impact of excessive car use and help individuals and organisations to make positive changes in their travel habits.
