What do stewards at Shared Planet do?
- They help to ensure the health and safety of participants
- They act as key-holders / caretakers for venues and look after left luggage
- They act as a first point of information for participants
- They give directions and guide participants between venues
Your role might include stewarding baggage storage rooms, sports hall accommodation, workshop venues, main hall venue and assisting with movement of participants from one part of an event to another.
You will be expected to work two 4-hour shifts and have to attend a steward briefing on the Friday night of Shared Planet (16 November) at 8pm at the University of Sheffield.
You will be part of the Shared Planet team along with People & Planet members of staff who are a friendly, down-to-earth bunch and good fun to work with. Apart from being fun and a chance to attend the conference for free whilst meeting lots of great people, stewarding at Shared Planet will also give you an insight into the practical organisation and management of a large-scale event.
